Every official misses calls. What separates good officials is the next sixty seconds.

Do not make up for it with a call at the other end; that is two mistakes. Reset your position, slow your breathing and referee the next play on its own facts. If a coach asks, a plain "I did not have a good look at it" ends more arguments than any explanation.

Write it in your Bench Book after the game: what you saw, where you were standing, and where you would stand next time. That is how the same miss does not happen twice.
